Ductile steel is a composed of a combination of special alloys that give it higher weight capacities than cast iron; while being more economical than drop forged steel. Also referred to as malleable iron; material may flex rather than cracking or breaking when submitted to an extreme shock load. Features an extra thick walled, heavy-duty core, hub and tread face. Roller bearings are standard, with precision & tapered bearings as an option.
Crowned Ductile Steel (Energy Saver Ductile) wheel features a crowned tread that rolls and maneuvers better than flat tread wheels. The combination of a crowned tread and optional precision tapered roller bearings will require significantly less effort to start up, maintain a rolling load, maximize weight capacity and perform well in severe and abusive applications.
Idea for use on rough surfaces and has good rolling resistance under any condition.
The casters in our 55/56 Series are heavy duty and forged, with capacities up to 3,500 lb. The series offers matching swivel and rigid casters constructed with 3/8″ thick swivel head from hot forged ASTM1045 steel. The legs are 3/8″ thick and the axle used is 3/4″ thick making these casters hold up to the toughest of jobs. The swivel casters feature a integrally forged 1″ diameter kingpin, main load ball bearings that are 1/2″ in diameter, as well as tapered thrust bearings.
